7/22/2026 — The R&R Realty Group Foundation (R&R Foundation) is proud to announce the recipients of its third annual Groundwork for Good program. Since launching in 2024, the employee-driven initiative has awarded more than $90,000 to nonprofit organizations across Iowa and Nebraska, including $25,000 in grants this year. Groundwork for Good empowers employees to nominate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that align with the R&R Foundation's giving priorities: human services, community engagement and development, education, and arts and culture.

Through the program, employees are also encouraged to nominate organizations that hold personal significance to them. Here's what our team members had to say about this year's recipients:

“Children and Families of Iowa is centered around restoring hope, building futures, and changing lives for Iowans across all 99 counties. I appreciate and respect the efforts they are making every day to get necessary resources to those needing assistance for trauma support, mental health counseling, family support, and early childhood development. It is an endless challenge that requires considerable support and care.” — Mike Herrmann, President of Advantage Property Management

“Children & Families of Iowa does so much for so many Iowans. They are an amazing resource for victims of domestic violence, families that need assistance with childcare, individuals struggling with addiction or other challenges, and individuals, including those with disabilities, needing assistance and support in gaining employment and planning their careers, among many other services. Children & Families of Iowa helps so many Iowans by restoring hope, building futures, and changing lives.”— Nicole Ayers, Associate General Counsel

“Dress for Success is a great organization that uplifts women by providing the professional attire, resources and support they need to build confidence and succeed in their careers. As the organization says, it's about much more than simply a new outfit—it's about giving women the confidence they carry forward and the knowledge that they can define their own future. We've heard so many inspiring stories about the impact Dress for Success has had on women and the difference it continues to make in our community. ” — Maria Davis, SIOR, Senior Vice President (R&R Real Estate Advisors) & Rachel Less, Commercial Real Estate Representative

“I'm proud to support GiGi's Playhouse Des Moines, an organization close to my heart.  My family has seen firsthand what a difference community and acceptance make for individuals with Down Syndrome.  Their work reflects values my family has long believed in—that every person deserves to be celebrated, supported, and included.” — Keith Ott, Construction Project Specialist

“I am honored to nominate Heart Heroes for this grant because of the compassion and support they provide to children and families. They offer guidance, understanding, and a community that reminds families they are never alone. From celebrations to heartbreak, loss, and life's most difficult decisions, they walk alongside families with empathy and without judgment. Together, Heart Heroes (Nebraska) and Help a Heart (Iowa) make a lasting impact on families like mine, and their work is truly immeasurable.” — Lindsay Schlatter, Director of Multifamily and Innovation

“The Project Healing Waters mission and impact states that "through a curriculum of fly fishing, fly casting, fly tying, and rod building, participants experience nature's restorative healing powers with building camaraderie, connectiveness, and community." I believe that sense of camaraderie is the biggest pull for veterans to join this program. I have known veterans who struggle to reinsert themselves back into civilian life after serving in combat. I have known veterans who chose to take their own life. Opportunities like this for people to gather with like-minded people who have experienced similar hardships, and to conquer new and interesting challenges is of utmost importance. It could save someone's life.” — Jeff Promo, Senior Maintenance Technician

The Groundwork for Good program reflects R&R Realty Group's commitment to strengthening the communities where our employees live and work by supporting organizations that create lasting impact.
